Greg Gifford to Keynote Affiliate Summit West 2016
Greg Gifford, Director of Search and Social at DealerOn, will be a keynote speaker at Affiliate Summit West 2016 on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Paris Las Vegas in Las Vegas, NV.
Greg Gifford is the Director of Search and Social at DealerOn, a software company that provides websites and online marketing to new car dealers all over the country. He’s got over 16 years of online marketing and web design experience, and he speaks internationally at both automotive and SEO conferences, teaching thousands of small business owners and marketers how to get their sites to show up higher in local search rankings.
Greg also spends his time doing freelance website design and SEO for local businesses. He graduated from Southern Methodist University with a BA in Cinema and Communications, and has an obscure movie quote for just about any situation.
He currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the DFWSEM, an organization dedicated to promoting search engine marketing through best practices.
I saw Greg give a presentation on local SEO at the AUSOME (Austin Online Marketing for Entrepreneurs) meetup earlier this year, and he delivered great information in a fun format.
Be sure to add this keynote to your schedule at Affiliate Summit West 2016 for some top notch learning and entertainment.
Do Affiliates Have an Advocate?
Q: Do affiliates have an advocate? I feel that advertisers and networks egregiously take advantage of publishers and I want to know if we have any recourse.
But I guess, in your experience, the networks and merchants have colluded against you? If that’s the case, it’s certainly a shame.
How about turning to the Performance Marketing Association (PMA) to see if they could advocate on your behalf?
According to the PMA site…
“The PMA’s mission is to champion and protect accountable performance marketing. Our main goals are:
- To promote the growth of the industry,
- Help model standards and best-practices and
- Advocate on behalf of the businesses that comprise the performance marketing industry”
I think it would be worth the effort to go to the PMA to see if there is some way they could help you.
Ask Shawn Collins your affiliate marketing question and it will be added on the affiliate blog.
What is the Best Way to Promote the WP Engine Hosting Affiliate Program?
I was chatting with the WP Engine team at Affiliate Summit East 2015 a few weeks ago, and I was excited to be hear that they are paying a minimum of $200 per referral.
In addition to their high commission rate, WP Engine also has a nice setup for bonuses that starts at five referrals per month.
But now I have to figure out how to drive that qualified traffic. I’ve never been much of a PPC affiliate, and I don’t plan to start. Growing a social media presence related to hosting could be a long grind.
I am thinking the call is to make tutorials, either video or with screenshots and text, that take newbies through the process of signing up and setting up a WP Engine account.
I’ve got lots of sites hosted over there, so tutorials wouldn’t be too tough.
Stay tuned.

Do I Know Anybody Who Hates Breast Cancer?
I will be doing the Avon 39 – The Walk to End Breast Cancer for the third time on October 17-18 in NYC. The Avon 39 is a 39.3 mile fundraising walk.
I hope that I can count on your support – I would be grateful for anything you could spare.
Our team will be walking up and down and all around Manhattan over the two days – we’ll pass through the Upper West and East Sides, Greenwich Village, SoHo, and Chinatown, as well as crossing into Brooklyn over the Brooklyn Bridge and then back across the Manhattan Bridge.
The money I raise will be managed and disbursed by the Avon Foundation Breast Cancer Crusade to help provide access to care for those who most need it, fund educational programs, and accelerate research into new treatments and potential cures.
I’ll be just one of thousands of people who will walk up 39.3 miles over two days, and I can’t do it without your help.
Please help me fight breast cancer.
If you’re interested in doing the walk, please contact me with any questions. While you might get some blisters and other various conditions that come with pushing yourself like that, it’s an amazing, inspirational time.
